3/4" Heim Tie Rod Kit – Using 1.5" x .25" Wall DOM

Heavy-duty DIY tie rod replacement for serious off-road use

This is just what the doctor ordered if you’ve bent your stock 1/16" thin-wall tie rod—or worse, a solid steel tie rod—and you’re tired of fixing it. This DIY kit uses 1.5" diameter x .25" wall DOM tubing, built to take repeated hits and keep you steering straight. Whether you're tackling rocks, trails, or just need a serious upgrade, this kit gets it done right the first time.

You will need to drill your steering arms to a 5/8" bore to use this kit. Welding is required—make sure it’s done by a competent welder with the right setup.

Key Features

  • Part Number: R1529
  • 1.5" x .25" wall DOM tubing – stronger than stock or solid tie rods
  • 3/4" Heat Treated Chromoly Heim joints – built for abuse
  • Includes stainless misalignment spacers for smooth articulation
  • Threaded hex tube adapters allow easy adjustments
  • DIY welding required – cut to your ideal length
  • Ideal for rock crawling, trail rigs, or heavy-duty trail-use
  • Made in the USA

What's Included in This Kit

  • 1 - RH 3/4" x 3/4" Bore Heat Treated Chromoly Heim
  • 1 - LH 3/4" x 3/4" Bore Heat Treated Chromoly Heim
  • 1 - RH 3/4" Hex Head Tube Adapter (1" Tube ID)
  • 1 - LH 3/4" Hex Head Tube Adapter (1" Tube ID)
  • 1 - RH 3/4" Jam Nut
  • 1 - LH 3/4" Jam Nut
  • 4 - 3/4" to 5/8" Narrow Stainless Misalignment Spacers
  • 1 - 1.5" x .25" x 54" DOM Tube

Tips to Help Prevent Any Seized or Warped Threads

  • Correctly adjust welder settings and start your puddle on the tube (too much heat will warp the threads).
  • Do not weld the tube adapter with the rod end threaded inside (different cooling rates will lock them together).
  • Wait until everything is fully cooled before threading rod ends into the adapters.

Rod End Maintenance Tip

We only recommend using Tri-Flow to service our rod ends. Using products like WD-40 or Blaster will void the warranty.

Note: This kit requires cutting and welding. Be sure to check clearances with steering at full lock to determine if any bends are necessary before final cuts.
